Message from the Director Summer Camp
Registration is now open for Summer Camp 2008.
Sky-Y and Chauncey Ranch are more than just summer camps. They are communities where campers bond with others from a mix of cultures, backgrounds and abilities to create experiences that last a lifetime. Camp life provides a unique opportunity for skill development, self-esteem, independence and personal growth through embracing the core values of the YMCA (Honesty, Caring, Respect, and Responsibility).
Camp Sky-Y
YMCA Camp Sky-Y, nestled in the Cool Pines of the Bradshaw Mountains, is a one-week overnight camp for youths entering grades 2-10.
Chauncey Ranch
Only one hour north of Phoenix, in the high chaparral country of central Arizona, Chauncey Ranch is a real working ranch for kids ages 9-16.
Adventure Travel
Sky-Y Teen Adventure Travel Camps are for teens (entering grades 8-12) looking to make new friends, explore great places to travel, and enjoy the great outdoors
Cowboy Camps
Located at Chauncey Ranch this program allows campers to live in the Cowboy Bran and spend the day working the ranch on horseback, improving basic riding skills and learning about roping, barrel racing complete with a rodeo on the last day of camp to demonstrate their new skills.
Lil Ranchers, Lil Cowpokes
Located at Chauncey Ranch this four day, three-night camp is a perfect program for the first time camper ages 7-10.
Vaqueros
Located at Chauncey Ranch this program offers the popularity of traditional camp activities with an emphasis on horseback riding for campers ages 10-13.
Teen Leadership Camps
Located and camp Sky-Y the teen leadership camps provide activities geared towards leaning, leadership, teamwork, outdoor skills, and communication.
Summer Family Camp
July 28-August 3
Big Adventures and Sky-Y Explorers give younger campers a chance to experience camp on their own level while giving mom and dad an opportunity to enjoy camp activities on their own. Great food, fun and friends have made the Sky-Y Family Camp a tradition for over 65 years.
We would like to thank all our campers for a great 2007 and we look forward to welcoming you back in 2008.
