The trip also and involves an 8 mile hike to focus on teamwork and support. Week 3 will be spent shadowing a counselor in a cabin, and putting their skills to work. An application is required and CIT’s will be chosen on the basis of maturity, and prior leadership, work, or childcare experience. Successful completion of the CIT program does not ensure employment at YMCA Camping Services, but does improve your skills and experience if you choose to apply to be a Junior Counselor in future summers.
